The February 2014 edition of The Suburban is here online, and on the way to your front door!  We withheld publication of this issue until today, February 5th, at the request of Harris Teeter due to the announcement of the K&K Square/Wards Corner Harris Teeter grand opening on February 19th.

What’s in the February edition? The opening of Harris Teeter and other shops at K&K Square this month…a growing movement to convince the city to restore property tax relief for seniors and the disabled…a February 18th rally to bring mail processing back to Church Street Station—and faster mail service to all of us…and yet another special election, this time to fill former Delegate Lynwood Lewis’s seat in the 100th House of Delegates District on February 25th.

We are looking for volunteers to deliver the newsletter on our Louisiana Drive, Yorktown Drive, and Woodfin Ave. routes and other areas in the neighborhood. Newsletters are delivered door-to-door monthly. You can deliver as few or as many as you like (our volunteers deliver anywhere from 15 to 55 each the first week of each month). If you would like to volunteer, email surbanacres@gmail.com.

August SACL Meeting

This month our meeting is once again at Norfolk Collegiate’s new fine arts center.  Doors open at 6 pm for refreshments, the meeting begins at 6:30.
