In addition to the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) web site for Fire Prevention Week at www.fpw.org, Norfolk Fire-Rescue also has fire prevention and safety tips on the Norfolk Fire-Rescue web site.

Norfolk Fire-Rescue also offers FREE smoke detectors. Call 664-6616 to schedule a smoke alarm installation today. You can also obtain a smoke alarm by completing the online form. A representative of Norfolk Fire-Rescue will contact you to make an appointment to install your smoke alarm. Because every home needs a working smoke alarm.

2013 Crime Prevention Award Nominations thru Sept. 18

The City of Norfolk is looking for extraordinary people who exceed expectations in combating crime and the causes of crime in Norfolk, especially “unsung heroes” who deserve recognition. The 21st Annual Norfolk Crime Prevention Awards will be presented Monday evening October 28th at 6:30 pm.

 The deadline to nominate an individual or group for an award has been extended to September 18.
