In the September 2013 Suburban:
Youth Leadership summer/fall scholarship awardees…
Truck traffic on Virginian Drive, parking on Suburban Parkway addressed…
Wards Corner area burglary suspects…
Archer’s Green and Ashley Galbreath awarded by Tidewater Multifamily Housing Council…
Yard of the Month, Dr. Brad’s Wellness column, Suburban Acres Green, the Neighborhood Watch report, and more!
I’m so very happy to see that the parking near the school is being addressed, very hard to get down Suburban that way with all the cars/suvs… Also I would like to bring it to everyone’s attention the speeding that takes place on Suburban also the many drivers that seem to believe that you really don’t need to stop at the Stop Signs. Many kids are now walking to and from school along with riding their bikes etc… Something really needs to be done.
Christina, we agree! Those present at our August meeting overwhelmingly thought parking on both sides of the street is a bad idea, and very congested-possibly unsafe considering the residents on that end of the street with mobility issues. We want to be a good neighbor to Norfolk Collegiate, but also maintain safety. SACL has asked city traffic engineers to re-evaluate the area (during rush hours) and hopefully revert to single side parking up to Cromwell Parkway.
