February 2019 SACL General Meeting Minutes & Recap
The Suburban Acres Civic League had a excellent, informative general meeting on February 11, 2019 at Suburban Park Elementary School. The Guest Speaker was Norfolk Police Chief, Larry Boone. Discussion with Chief Boone was lively and insightful. City Council member Courtney Doyle was in attendance as well. Janette Woodruff, SACL Vice President, also gave an update on happenings with the Wards Corner Business Association, which is working to generate continued momentum in our community for Wards Corner.
Thank you to Dave Moeller for providing the tasty food for the meeting! The SACL is always looking for volunteers to provide food for the meetings and reimburses those who sign up to volunteer to organize food for the meeting up to $40.
Formal minutes of the February 2019 general meeting are posted and can be found by going clicking here to go to the Meeting Minutes area of the SACL website. The minutes contain more detail on what was discussed so make sure to check them out, particularly if you are a member. Members vote to approve the minutes of prior meetings at each SACL general meeting.
Please also check out the SACL facebook page for more photos from the meeting!
City of Norfolk Recycling Survey
The City of Norfolk has posted a survey in an attempt to gather feedback from citizens about their feelings about recycling, how much they do it, and how much they’d be willing to pay to make sure it continues. Please consider taking this survey to help the city with its decision making process regarding this important issue.
There is also a very interesting report posted on this website that the City will be presenting to City Council later this month. We also encourage our neighbors to sign up for Open City Hall so you can provide input on other surveys that the city posts in the future.

This is an key issue for our city to sort out with full feedback from all citizens. For further context, please read the below article published in the Virginian Pilot on February 14, 2019.
