The Suburban Acres Civic League Web site had about 2300 individual views in 2012 through December 9th, according to Word Press, our site host. WordPress.com is a free, easy-to-use, blog-style site; the civic league pays a modest site hosting fee each year.
Many visitors were referred from internet search engines (searching on our civic league or neighborhood name).
- WardsCornerNow.com and Facebook were the two top-referring Web sites with direct referrals (we have links on both sites).
-
1805 of our 2400 views originated within the United States; the rest were from 31 other countries.
We intend to keep adding to and improving the web site.
www.slideshare.net
Our blog-style web site is not conducive to posting and allowing browsing among multiple pictures. SACL at one time had photos posted in slide shows (Microsoft PowerPoint format) on a site called slide.com; unfortunately that site has closed its doors.
We are now posting photos of our events and activities on www.slideshare.net/suburbanacres. We started posting on slideshare with pictures from the annual 4th of July parade and picnic, and since have posted pictures from Halloween in the neighborhood, and flooding and damage from Hurricane Sandy.
In our first year of posting on slideshare.net we received more than 1400 views! 1179 of those visits were to the slide show of hurricane flooding.
So stand by for more posts and pictures. If you take great pictures of the neighborhood that you would like to share, please send them to suburbanacres@gmail.com
