Highlights include:

  • A spike in car larcenies, generally in the Archer’s Green apartments area
  • Guest Speaker for the meeting was Lynn Clements, the Executive Direction of the Slover Library
  • Caton Park Picnic Shelter added to The City Capital Improvement Plan.

May 2019 General Meeting Minutes Posted

The minutes for the May 2019 Suburban Acres Civic League General Meeting are posted and available at the meeting minutes area of our website.

Meeting highlights include:

  • Comments and Q&A with State Delegate Robert Bloxom
  • Best native plants for shady, wet or sun-loving areas with Denise Gruccio of Eggleston Garden Center
  • Membership vote on the proposed location of the Thole Street speed sign.

April 2019 Suburban Acres Civic League Meeting Recap and Minutes

The minutes of the April 2019 Suburban Acres Civic League General Meeting are published and posted to the Meeting Minutes area of our website.  Please check out the minutes for a full recap of topics and discussion.

Guest speaker for the meeting was City Council member Courtney Doyle.  Topics ranged from school funding, St. Paul’s Project, to Pedestrian signals and street speed signs along Thole.

Thank you to Mary Ann Grogan, Diane Ruhl, Karen Mayne and Nathaniel Kinnison for providing the food, refreshments and sweets for the meeting!

March 2019 Suburban Acres Civic League Meeting Recap and Minutes

The official minutes of the Suburban Acres Civic League meeting held on March 11, 2019 have been posted.   Go here to see the minutes

The meeting was headlined by an insightful discussion with Norfolk Sheriff, Joe Baron.  Sheriff Baron ran the members and guests through his department’s priorities for the year and provided helpful clarity for everyone on the functions and values of the department.
