Drive Safe – Old, Used, Borrowed and Abused Child Safety Seat Round-Up

Did you know that an old or broken safety seat could be putting a child in danger?

To help keep children as safe as possible, Drive Safe Hampton Roads, along with Walmart, AAA Tidewater Virginia, DMV: Virginia Highway Safety Office, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, Boomerang Recovery, WVEC Channel 13,  West Service Center, Waste Industries, Hoffman Beverage, and Versability Resources have teamed up to conduct the 25th ANNUAL OLD, USED, BORROWED AND ABUSED CHILD SAFETY SEAT ROUND-UP.

February 2014 Newsletter

The February 2014 edition of The Suburban is here online, and on the way to your front door!  We withheld publication of this issue until today, February 5th, at the request of Harris Teeter due to the announcement of the K&K Square/Wards Corner Harris Teeter grand opening on February 19th.

What’s in the February edition? The opening of Harris Teeter and other shops at K&K Square this month…a growing movement to convince the city to restore property tax relief for seniors and the disabled…a February 18th rally to bring mail processing back to Church Street Station—and faster mail service to all of us…and yet another special election, this time to fill former Delegate Lynwood Lewis’s seat in the 100th House of Delegates District on February 25th.

100th State House District, Democratic Primary Saturday, Special Election Feb. 25th

WEBLOGO_SPECELECTA special election to fill the seat of former Delegate Lynwood Lewis will be held on Tuesday February 25th.  Republicans will hold their nominating process on February 8th.

Democratic Committees in the 100th State House District will conduct a firehouse primary this Saturday February 1st from 10 am to 2 pm.  The primary voting location in Norfolk is Crossroads School, 8021 Old Ocean View Road.

SPECIAL ELECTION TODAY, 6TH State Senate District

6th State Senate seat vacated by Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam.

Suburban Acres, Suburban Park, Wards Corner, and the rest of Northeast Norfolk are in the 6th District.  Suburban Acres voting procedures are the same as regular elections: polling place is Suburban Park Elementary School, 310 thole Street. Polls are open until 7 pm tonight.

Candidates to replace Northam are our current State Delegate, Lynwood Lewis (D) and Norfolk businessman Wayne Coleman (R).
