Published monthly in The Suburban, newsletter of the Suburban Acres Civic League, Suburban Acres Green is a column that focuses on sustainable living, conservation, and protecting our environment. Authored by Karen Mayne, Suburban Acres’ environmental guru, the column also ventures into health and wellness, gardening, and other neighborhood topics. Of all the contributions to The Suburban, “Green” results in the most requests for reprints, and overall questions and feedback about the topics.
“Green” is a valuable resource to us in the neighborhood when we have questions about recycling, sustainable gardening and landscaping, and protecting the nearby Lafayette River.
The “Green” archives are listed below, first by topic; click here to search by publication month. While we have sometimes reformatted the original column for single-page viewing and downloading here, we have not edited the original content, so be aware that some information such as phone numbers and web site links in older columns may have changed since original publication.
