The Suburban is here for October!
This month’s civic league meeting is Monday evening October 8th. We are back at Norfolk Collegiate School (enter on the Suburban Parkway side) since Suburban Park Elementary is closed for Columbus Day. Our guest speaker is Brent Johnson, a prosecutor from the Norfolk Commonwealths Attorney’s Office. Doors open with refreshments at 6 pm; meeting starts at 6:30.
Also, the owners of the new Sal’s Pizza (former Delvecchio’s location at corner of Virginian Drive & East Little Creek Road) will be at the meeting to meet their new neighbors. The brothers have a great back-story; read about them at www.wardscornernow.com. Your president has already tried the Stromboli, and it comes highly recommended.
In the interest of keeping you informed your president also visited The Pancake House for breakfast on Saturday Oct. 6th to collect intel on the implementation of their new liquor license (the owners will be serving Mimosas, Bloody Marys, etc. with a full service bar for brunch). I had the honey-wheat Belgian Waffle and bacon so I would blend in with the breakfast crowd and learned that the actual ABC license hasn’t been delivered yet, but they are expecting it the week of Oct. 8th.
