If you’d like to be a part of putting together this year’s neighborhood shindig, please attend tomorrow night’s Suburban Acres Civic League meeting in Suburban Park Elementary at 6:30, or reply to this post. It’ll be a great chance to meet and team up with your neighbors, and none of the tasks will be overly demanding. Looking forward to hearing from you!
As you may have seen with our recent publication of the Mar-Apr 2017 Suburban newsletter, we’re working on updating our home site and providing more regular posts, complete with automatic cross-posting on our Facebook page. Stay tuned for more to come!
The Norfolk Planning Commission has advised the civic league that Mr. C. Christopher Nicholas has applied for a street closure of a portion of a cul-de-sac on Gunn Court, being located 30.00 feet south, more or less, of the 20’ Lane located west of Gunn Court; and north of 7000 Gunn Court.
This item will be discussed at the October civic league meeting. Click on the link to see the survey.
The item is tentatively scheduled for the October 27, 2016 Planning Commission public hearing.
EARNN (Environmental Awards for Recycling in Norfolk Neighborhoods) points equate to cash for our civic league activities!

Please come out this Saturday May 14th and participate in the Great American Cleanup.
We’ll be working on some backlogged projects the city/school system hasn’t been able to get around to:
-Trimming hedges
-Pressure washing siding
-General cleanup
You’ll only be occupied for an hour or two. For this event the points our civic league earns for EARNN is based on participation, so please come out and sign in to end moral support, even if you can’t lend physical support!
Yard tools would be appreciated (rakes, etc.) and we would particularly appreciate anyone who has gasoline-powered hedge clippers (limited electrical access).
Trash bags, gloves, refreshments, etc. provided.
This is a great way to meet neighbors, help Suburban Park Elementary, beautify the neighborhood, and earn EARNN points! Bring the kids to involve them in environmental stewardship and community engagement.
Email suburbanacres@gmail.com for any questions.
