Mr. Bockheim provided an interesting talk on the zoo’s programs related to education, community outreach, and conservation and breeding of at-risk species from around the world. The Virginia Zoo hosts about 500,000 visitors a year and is the only zoo in Virginia that is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
